In 1981, owner Gregory Smith began to trade in precious metals, selling to retail stores around Michigan. He soon opened up his first retail business, selling primarily 14kt rings, chains, and charms. Having majored in business in college, Gregory focused on selling precious metal jewelry and made the decision to increase his knowledge in the field of Gemology. Gregory attended the Gemological Institute of America (G.I.A.) and became a Graduate Gemologist. With the knowledge of identifying gem stones and the grading of Diamonds, Gregory expanded his business by opening his second location in Rochester Hills. He travelled to Columbia, where he purchased rare gem stones and soon began to purchase gems from Africa and diamonds from Anthrop. Gregory began designing jewelry to include these precious diamonds and gems. Unique designs are found throughout the newest store, opened in 2009 in downtown Rochester, Michigan. Gregory is very involved in the community he lives and works in. He has been involved in the local Rotary Club since 1997 and is a member of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce. The store in Rochester is a member of Jewelers of America number 0533212.
